A little bit of history

The property where the hotel is located was bought 32 years ago by the parents of Corteza Amarilla’s owner. In that time it was only lands where turf was sold and it was agricultural farm where onion and fruits such as orange, lemons and tangerines were planted.

The total area of the property is about 18 hectares. It was divided among all the family. The owner has 1 hectare and the hotel is located in half of the total land. The other half is where the owner lives. His parents started with reforestation of the land and now it is a job that all the family continues; thanks to these all the area is reforested.

The construction of the main building was done 13 years ago and it was the owner’s home. The house was built from pieces of demolished houses from San Jose that he collected for several years.

Formerly it took about one hour and a half to get here but today it takes only 15 minutes from San Jose.
